CFAES Impact: November/December 2025

  1. When the weather turns, both farmers and first responders need accurate, ground-level information. But in many rural parts of Ohio, radar and satellite tools often miss what matters most.

  2. Ohio 4-H youth development is a crucial launchpad for future researchers, scientists, farmers and agricultural experts. When it comes to the weather, 4-H is helping today’s climate-smart youth solve tomorrow’s weather-related challenges.

  3. For students dreaming of a career in agriculture, environmental science or related fields — but unsure how to afford college — Ohio State ATI, on the CFAES Wooster campus, is opening the door wider than ever.

  4. In 2024, CFAES received a $4.9 million National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration grant to train 100 climate-ready workers in Ohio’s Lake Erie region. More than 24 partners joined to teach stormwater management, water science and data skills that protect our water resources.
